Small grants to resident-led projects in public spaces, arts, and placemaking. Neighbors know what their block needs. Our job is to fund it and then get out of the way.
A community-wide survey of Pikes Peak region residents on the issues they care about most. Results are published openly, so residents, reporters, and public officials all work from the same picture of what this community actually wants.
Training residents to advocate for their neighborhoods: how to serve on a board or commission, how to testify at a public hearing, how to read a city budget, and how to get a straight answer out of city hall.
Public education and advocacy on the four issues at the center of our mission: housing, community vibrancy, public safety, and economic opportunity. We take positions on policy, never on parties.
The region is short more than 27,000 housing units. That shortage shows up as rent outpacing wages, young families priced out of the neighborhoods they grew up in, and first responders and service members commuting in from outside the community they serve. We push for supply, for permitting that works, and for growth that doesn't leave existing neighborhoods behind.
A growing city has to invest in the public spaces, arts, and neighborhoods that make it worth living in. We fund and advocate for placemaking, beautification, and the civic energy that brings people out of their houses and into contact with their neighbors.
Colorado Springs is home to five major military installations, one of the largest veteran populations in the country, and the police officers, firefighters, and EMS crews who answer the call. We advocate for the staffing, response times, mental health resources, and housing that keep this community safe and that military families and first responders have earned.
Downtown has drawn billions in investment. The test is whether it reaches every neighborhood. We work to attract employers, back small business, and build workforce pipelines, including for the thousands of service members who transition out of the military here each year and want to build the rest of their lives in this community.
Our mission is to give every resident of the Pikes Peak region a meaningful voice in the future of our community. Through community investment, open research, civic partnerships, and leadership development, we empower our neighbors to shape smart, inclusive growth. We believe that when people are informed and involved, growth becomes an opportunity that benefits everyone, not just a few.
Colorado was built by people who ventured. Who looked at unexplored terrain and snow-capped mountains and saw possibility instead of obstacles. Venture Colorado carries that same instinct into civic life. The frontier has changed, but the spirit hasn't.
Venture Colorado is a 501(c)(4) social welfare organization. We're accountable to the residents of the Pikes Peak region, not to political parties.
